Draw a circle. Draw the horizontal and vertical centerlines. | ||||

Construct the circumscribed octagon (regular 8-sided polygon) of circle 1, with horizontal and vertical sides. | ||||

Draw the connecting line between the center of circle 1 and the righthand angular point of octagon 2 above the horizontal centerline. | ||||

Construct the inscribed octagon of circle 1, with the sides parallel to the sides of octagon 2. | ||||

Construct a "two-points" circle (defined by the two end-points of a centerline) between the center of circle 1 and its righthand intersection with the horizontal centerline. | ||||

Copy circle 5 to the center of circle 1. | ||||

Construct a circle centered at the righthand intersection of circle 5 and line 3, passing through the nearest angular point of octagon 2. | ||||

Copy circle 7 four times, to the intersections of circle 6 and the horizontal and vertical centerlines. | ||||

Construct a circle concentric to circle 7, tangent to the nearest sides of octagon 4. | ||||
