Reconstruction of the
The Long Man 3-07-2014 formation
1. Draw a circle. Draw the horizontal and vertical centerlines.
2. Construct the inscribed pentagon (regular 5-sided polygon) of circle 1, pointing down.
3. Construct the inscribed pentagon of circle 1, pointing up.
4. Draw the connecting line between the two rightmost angular points of pentagons 2 and 3.
5. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to line 4.
6. Construct the inscribed pentagon of circle 5, pointing down.
7. Construct a circle centered at the righthand intersection of circle 5 and the horizontal centerline, tangent to circle 1 at the righthand side.
8. Copy circle 7 to the righthand intersection of pentagon 6 and the horizontal centerline.
9. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 8 at the lefthand side.
10. Construct the inscribed pentagon of circle 9, pointing down.
11. Construct a circle centered at the upper intersection of pentagon 6 and the vertical centerline, tangent to circle 9 at the upper side. See detail.
12. Copy circle 11 to the upper intersection of pentagon 10 and the vertical centerline. See detail.
13. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 12 at the lower side. See detail.
14. Construct the inscribed pentagon of circle 13, pointing down.
15. Copy circle 11 to the upper intersection of pentagon 14 and the vertical centerline. See detail.
16. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 15 at the lower side. See detail.
17. Construct the inscribed pentagon of circle 16, pointing down.
18. Copy circle 11 to the upper intersection of pentagon 17 and the vertical centerline. See detail.
19. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 18 at the lower side. See detail.
20. Construct the inscribed pentagon of circle 19, pointing down.
21. Draw the five diagonals of pentagon 20.
22. Circles 1, 5, 9, 13, 16, and 19, pentagons 6, 10, 14 and 17, and diagonals 21, are used for the final reconstruction.
23. Remove all parts not visible within the formation itself.
