Reconstruction of the
Burrow Hill Fort 11-07-2012 formation

1. Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2. Construct the inscribed equilateral triangle of circle 1, pointing up.

3. Construct the inscribed circle of triangle 2.

4. Construct the inscribed square of circle 3, pointing up.

5. Construct the inscribed equilateral triangle of circle 3, pointing up.

6. Extend the sides of triangle 5 in both directions upto circle 1.

7. Construct the inscribed equilateral triangle of circle 3, pointing down.

8. Extend the sides of triangle 7 in both directions upto circle 1.

9. Construct the inscribed equilateral triangle of circle 3, pointing to the right.

10. Extend the sides of triangle 9 in both directions upto circle 1.

11. Construct the inscribed equilateral triangle of circle 3, pointing to the left.

12. Extend the sides of triangle 11 in both directions upto circle 1.

13. Draw a ray of circle 3, from its center to the upper righthand angular point of triangle 7, and extend it upto circle 1.

14. Draw a ray of circle 3, from its center to the upper righthand angular point of triangle 11, and extend it upto circle 1.

15. Draw a line from the center of circle 1 to the upper righthand intersection of lines 8 and 12, and extend it upto circle 1.

16. Construct a "two-points" circle (defined by the two end-points of a centerline) between the intersections of lines 13 and 15 with circle 1.

17. Draw a line from the center of circle 1 to the center of circle 16, and extend it upto circle 1.

18. Construct a "two-points" circle between the intersections of lines 14 and 15 with circle 1.

19. Draw a line from the center of circle 1 to the center of circle 18, and extend it upto circle 1.

20. Draw a line from the center of circle 1 to the righthand intersection of circle 3 and the horizontal centerline.

21. Construct a "two-points" circle between the intersections of lines 13 and 14 with circle 3.

22. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 21 at the upper righthand side.

23. Construct a "two-points" circle between the intersections of circles 1 and 22 with the vertical centerline.

24. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the center of circle 23.

25. Draw twelve lines between the intersections of circles 3, 22, 24 and 1, with lines 13, 14, 15, 17 and 19, according to the shown pattern.

26. Construct a circle centered at the intersection of the righthand side of triangle 5 and the upper side of triangle 11, tangent to the upper righthand side of square 4.

27. Copy circle 26 to the upper intersection of circle 1 and the vertical centerline.

28. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 27 at the upper side.

29. Copy circle 3 to the righthand intersection of lines 8 and 10.

30. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 29 at the righthand side.

31. Copy circle 26 to the upper intersection of circle 30 and the vertical centerline.

32. Copy circle 26 to the lefthand intersection of circle 31 and circle 30, and move this circle (copy and delete original) to its own corresponding intersection.

33. Remove all redundant parts from circles 3, 22, and 24, and from lines 8, 10, 13, 14, 17, 19, 20, and 25, such that the shown pattern remains.
34. Copy pattern 33 five times (repeat all the necessary steps), taking the upper righthand angular point of triangle 7 as a reference point, to the (other) angular points of triangles 5 and 7, while rotating around the center of circle 1 by 60° consecutively.

35. Circles 28 and 32, and patterns 33 and 34, make up the final reconstruction.
