Reconstruction of the
Westwoods 21-06-2011 formation
1. Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.
2. Copy circle 1 to its righthand intersection with the horizontal centerline.
3. Copy circle 1 to its upper intersection with the vertical centerline.
4. Copy circle 1 to its lefthand intersection with the horizontal centerline.
5. Copy circle 1 to its lower intersection with the vertical centerline.
6. Construct a circle concentric to circle 2, passing through the righthand intersection of circles 1 and 3.
7. Copy circle 6 to the center of circle 3.
8. Copy circle 6 to the center of circle 1.
9. Construct a circle concentric to circle 2, tangent to circle 8 at the righthand side.
10. Copy circle 9 to the center of circle 3.
11. Copy circle 6 to the righthand intersection of circle 8 and the horizontal centerline.
12. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 11 at the righthand side.
13. Copy circle 9 to the lefthand intersection of circle 6 and the horizontal centerline.
14. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 13 at the righthand side.
15. Construct a circle centered at the righthand intersection of circle 14 and the horizontal centerline, tangent to circle 1 at the righthand side.
16. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 15 at the lefthand side.
17. Construct a circle concentric to circle 2, tangent to circle 15 at the lefthand side.
18. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 17 at the righthand side.
19. Copy circle 15 to the righthand intersection of circle 6 and the horizontal centerline.
20. Construct a circle concentric to circle 2, tangent to circle 19 at the righthand side.
21. Copy circle 17 to the center of circle 19.
22. Construct a circle concentric to circle 2, tangent to circle 21 at the righthand side.
23. Construct a circle concentric to circle 2, tangent to circle 21 at the lefthand side.
24. Copy circle 12 to the center of circle 3.
25. Copy circle 18 to the center of circle 3.
26. Copy circles 14 and 16 to the center of circle 3.
27. Copy circle 12 to the center of circle 5.
28. Copy circle 18 to the center of circle 5.
29. Copy circles 14 and 16 to the center of circle 5.
30. Copy circle 14 to the center of circle 2.
31. Copy circle 16 to the center of circle 2.
32. Copy circles 12 and 18 to the center of circle 2.
33. Copy circle 20 to the center of circle 3.
34. Copy circle 22 to the center of circle 3.
35. Copy circle 23 to the center of circle 3.
36. Construct a circle centered at the lefthand intersection of circle 20 and the horizontal centerline, passing through the lower lefthand intersection of circles 20 and 25.
37. Construct a circle centered at the lefthand intersection of circle 22 and the horizontal centerline, passing through the lower lefthand intersection of circles 22 and 25.
38. Create the shown pattern, by removing all redundant parts from circles 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 14, 16, 20, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34 and 35.
39. Copy pattern 38 three times, while rotating them about the center of circle 1 by 90°, 180°, and 270°, respectively, as shown. (That means, repeat all the necessary steps relative to the other three quadrants, to create pattern 38 again).
40. Copy circle 36 to the righthand intersection of circle 16 and the horizontal centerline, and move this circle (copy and delete original) to its own lefthand intersection with the horizontal centerline.
41. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 40 at the lefthand side.
42. Construct a circle centered at the righthand intersection of circle 40 and the horizontal centerline, tangent to this circle at the lefthand side.
43. Copy circle 42 to the upper intersection of the inner circle 29 and the vertical centerline.
44. Construct a circle concentric to circle 3, tangent to circle 43 at the lower side.
45. Copy circle 42 to the lower intersection of the inner circle 26 and the vertical centerline.
46. Construct a circle concentric to circle 5, tangent to circle 45 at the upper side.
47. Copy circle 42 to the lefthand intersection of circle 23 and the horizontal centerline.
48. Construct a circle concentric to circle 9, tangent to circle 47 at the righthand side.
49. Copy circle 36 four times, to the shown intersections of circles 44 and 46 with circles 41 and 48.
50. Copy circle 42 to the lower lefthand intersection of circle 22 and inner circle 26.
51. Construct a circle concentric to circle 9, tangent to circle 50 at the lefthand side.
52. Construct a circle concentric to circle 3, tangent to circle 50 at the upper side.
53. Copy circle 36 two times, to the shown intersections of circle 51 with circles 41 and 52.
54. Copy circle 42 to the lower lefthand intersection of circles 31 and 34.
55. Construct a circle concentric to circle 3, tangent to circle 54 at the lower side.
56. Construct a circle concentric to circle 9, tangent to circle 54 at the righthand side.
57. Copy circle 36 three times, to the shown intersections of circles 41, 55 and 56.
58. Construct a circle concentric to circle 9, tangent to lefthand circles 49 at the lefthand sides.
59. Copy circle 37 to the lefthand intersection of circle 58 and the horizontal centerline.
60. Construct a circle concentric to upper lefthand circle 49, passing through the center of circle 59.
61. Copy circle 37 to the righthand intersection of circle 60 and the horizontal centerline.
62. Construct a circle concentric to circle 3, tangent to upper lefthand circle 49 at the upper side.
63. Copy circle 37 to the upper intersection of circles 60 and 62.
64. Copy circle 60 to the center of upper circle 49.
65. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to upper circle 49 at the righthand side.
66. Copy circle 37 two times, to the lower intersections of circle 64 with circles 62 and 65.
67. Construct two circles concentric to circles 66, passing through each others centers, as shown.
68. Draw the connecting line between the center of circle 64 and the lower intersection of circles 67.
69. Copy circle 37 to the intersection of circle 64 and line 68.
70. Construct two circles concentric to circles 61 and 63, passing through each others centers, as shown.
71. Draw the connecting line between the center of circle 60 and the righthand intersection of circles 70.
72. Copy circle 37 to the intersection of circle 60 and line 71.
73. Copy circles 63, 66, 69 and 72, while mirroring with respect to the horizontal centerline.
74. Draw the connecting line between the intersections of circle 31 and inner circle 26.
75. Copy circle 60 three times, to the centers of circles 53 and lower circle 57.
76. Copy circle 37 to the upper righthand intersection of line 74 and lower circle 75.
77. Construct a circle concentric to circle 3, tangent to lower circle 53 at the lower side.
78. Construct a circle concentric to circle 9, tangent to lower circle 53 at the righthand side.
79. Copy circle 37 five times, to the shown intersections of circles 75 with circles 65, 77 and 78.
80. Construct two circles concentric to the second and third lowermost circles 79, passing through each others centers, as shown.
81. Draw the connecting line between the center of middle circle 75 and the upper lefthand intersection of circles 80.
82. Construct two circles concentric to the upper two circles 79, passing through each others centers, as shown.
83. Draw the connecting line between the center of upper circle 75 and the lefthand intersection of circles 82.
84. Copy circle 37 two times, to the intersections of circles 75 and lines 81 and 83.
85. Copy circles 79 and 84, while mirroring with respect to line 74.
86. Copy circles 49, 53, 57, 59, 61, 63, 66, 69, 72, 73, 76, 79, 84 and 85, as a whole three times, while rotating them about the center of circle 1 by 90°, 180°, and 270°, respectively, as shown.
87. Circles 12, 49, 53, 57, 59, 61, 63, 66, 69, 72, 73, 76, 79, 84, 85 and 86, and patterns 38 and 39, together, make up the final reconstruction.
