Reconstruction of the
West Woodhay Down 29-07-2011 formation

1.
Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2.
Construct the inscribed regular 18-sided polygon of circle 1, pointing up.

3.
Draw the eighteen diagonals of polygon 2, closest to but not through the center of circle 1.

4.
Construct a circle passing through the third set of mutual intersections of diagonals 3, counted from the center of circle 1.

5.
Construct a circle passing through the fourth set of mutual intersections of diagonals 3, counted from the center of circle 1.

6.
Construct a circle passing through the fifth set of mutual intersections of diagonals 3, counted from the center of circle 1.

7.
Copy circles 4, 5 and 6 two times, to the intersections of circle 1 and the horizontal centerline.

8.
Copy circle 1 to its righthand intersection with the horizontal centerline.

9.
Copy circle 1 to its lefthand intersection with the horizontal centerline.

10.
Construct a circle centered at the upper mutual intersection of diagonals 3 on the vertical centerline, closest to the center of circle 1, passing through the intersection of the horizontal diagonal 3 above the horizontal centerline and circle 8.

Construct a "two-points" circle (defined by the two end-points of a centerline) between the center of circle 10 and its lower intersection with the vertical centerline.

Copy circle 4 to its lower intersection with circle 8.

13.
Copy circle 11 to the center of circle 12.

14.
Construct a circle centered at the intersection of circles 8 and 12 outside circle 4, passing through the near intersection of circles 8 and 13.

Copy circle 14 to its intersection with circle 8 outside circle 12.

16.
Copy circle 11 to the center of circle 15.

17.
Construct a circle centered at the intersection of circles 8 and 15 outside circle 14, passing through the near intersection of circles 8 and 16.

Create a series of seven circles similar to circles 14 and 17, by repeating steps 15, 16 and 17 seven times, mutatis mutandis (changing what has to be changed). Number these circles 1 through 7 counterclockwise.

19.
Copy circles 14, 17 and 18 as a whole, while rotating about the center of circle 1 over 180°. Number these circles 1 through 9 counterclockwise.

Create one more circle in the same way as circles 18, as shown.

Copy circle 20, while rotating about the center of circle 1 over 180°.

Create four more circles similar to circles 18 and 20, and number these circles 1 through 4 counterclockwise.

Draw a line between the lower two innermost mutual intersections of diagonals 3, second to the left and second to the right from the vertical centerline, as shown.

Construct a circle centered at the intersection of line 23 and the vertical centerline, passing through the intersection of line 23 and circle 8.

Copy circle 24 to the upper intersection of circle 22 nr. 4 and circle 8.

Copy circle 22 nr. 4 to the center of circle 25.

Construct a circle centered at the intersection of circles 26 and 8 outside circle 22 nr. 4, passing through the near intersection of circles 25 and 8.

Create three circles similar to circle 27, by repeating steps 25, 26 and 27, mutatis mutandis. Number these circles 1 through 3 counterclockwise.

Copy circle 11 two times, to the intersections of circle 6 and the horizontal centerline.

Construct two parallel lines, tangent to circles 29 at both sides, and extend these lines in both directions upto the near sides of inner circles 7.

Construct a circle centered at the upper lefthand intersection of circle 4 and lines 30, tangent to circle 5 at the near side.
