Reconstruction of the Hackpen Hill 30-05-2011 formation
1. | Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.
2. | Construct the inscribed regular 18-sided polygon of circle 1, pointing up.
3. | Construct a "two-points" circle (defined by the two end-points of a centerline) between the top and the next angular point to the right of polygon 2.
4. | Copy circle 3 to the center of circle 1.
5. | Construct the inscribed equilateral triangle of circle 1, pointing up.
6. | Construct a circle centered at the top of triangle 5, tangent to circle 4 at the upper side.
7. | Copy circle 6 to the lower lefthand angular point of triangle 5.
8. | Copy circle 6 to the lower righthand angular point of triangle 5.
9. | Copy circle 3 to the righthand intersection of circles 1 and 6 (call this point "A"). Move this circle (copy and delete original) to its own upper lefthand intersection with circle 1.
10. | Copy circle 3 to the upper intersection of circles 1 and 7 (call this point "B"). Move this circle to its own lower intersection with circle 1.
11. | Construct a circle centered at the upper lefthand intersection of circles 1 and 9, passing through point A.
12. | Construct a circle centered at the lower intersection of circles 1 and 10, passing through point B.
13. | Construct a "two-points" circle between the lefthand intersections of circles 9 and 11 with circle 1.
14. | Draw the connecting line between the centers of circles 1 and 13, and extend this line up to the opposite side of circle 13.
15. | Construct a circle centered at the intersection of circle 1 and line 14, passing through point A.
16. | Copy circle 15 to point B, and move this circle to its own lower intersection with circle 1.
17. | Construct a circle centered at the lefthand intersection of circles 1 and 11, passing through point A.
18. | Construct a circle centered at the lower intersection of circles 1 and 12, passing through point B.
19. | Construct a circle concentric to circle 6, passing through the intersection of circle 17 and the righthand side of triangle 5.
20. | Copy circle 19 to the center of circle 8.
21. | Construct a circle centered at the intersection of circle 17 and the righthand side of triangle 5, tangent to circle 6 at the near side.
22. | Copy circle 21 to point A.
23. | Construct a circle concentric to circle 11, tangent to circle 22 at the lefthand side.
24. | Construct a circle concentric to circle 15, tangent to circle 22 at the lefthand side.
25. | Construct a circle concentric to circle 17, tangent to circle 22 at the lefthand side.
26. | Circles 1, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 15, 16, 17, 18, 20, 23, 24 and 25, are used for the final reconstruction.
