Reconstruction of the
Barbury Castle (2) 2-07-2011 formation

1. Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2. Copy circle 1 to its righthand intersection with the horizontal centerline, and move this circle (copy and delete orignal) to its own corresponding intersection.

3. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 2 at the righthand side.

4. Construct the inscribed nonagon (regular 9-sided polygon) of circle 3, pointing to the right.

5. Construct the inscribed circle of nonagon 4.

6. Construct a circle, tangent to the two rightmost sides of nonagon 4, and tangent to circle 5 at the righthand side.

7. Copy circle 6 to the center of circle 2.

8. Copy circle 6 to the lefthand intersection of circle 5 and the horizontal centerline.

9. Construct a "two-points" circle (defined by the two end-points of a centerline) between the lefthand intersection of circle 7 and the righthand intersection of circle 8, both with the horizontal centerline.

10. Copy circle 6 to the righthand intersection of circle 1 and the horizontal centerline.

11. Construct a "two-points" circle between the righthand intersections of circles 8 and 10 with the horizontal centerline.

12. Copy circle 1 to the center of circle 8.

13. Construct a "two-points" circle between the righthand intersection of circle 8 and the horizontal centerline, and the center of circle 10.

14. Construct a circle centered at the righthand intersection of circle 5 and the horizontal centerline, tangent to circle 9 at the righthand side.

15. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 14 at the righthand side.

16. Copy circle 6 to the righthand intersection of circle 15 and the horizontal centerline.

17. Construct a "two-points" circle between the center of circle 8 and the lefthand intersection of circle 16 and the horizontal centerline.

18. Construct a "two-points" circle between the lefthand intersections of circles 1 and 13 with the horizontal centerline.

19. Copy circle 18 to the center of circle 16.

20. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 19 at the righthand side.

21. Copy circle 6 two times, the first to the righthand intersection of circle 20, the second to the lefthand intersection of the first, both with the horizontal centerline.

22. Construct a circle concentric to the first circle 21, tangent to the second at the lefthand side.

23. Copy circle 22 to its lower intersection with circle 20, and move this circle to its own corresponding intersection.

24. Construct a "two-points" circle between the inner intersections of circles 21 with the horizontal centerline, as shown.

25. Copy circle 24 to the center of circle 23.

26. Copy circle 22 to the upper intersection of circle 20 and the vertical centerline.

27. Copy circle 1 to the lower intersection of circle 26 and the vertical centerline.

28. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 27 at the upper side.

29. Copy circle 22 to the center of circle 27.

30. Construct a circle centered at the upper intersection of circle 28 and the vertical centerline, tangent to circle 29 at the lower side.

31. Copy circle 6 to the lefthand intersection of circles 28 and 30.

32. Circles 1, 5, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 23, 25 and 31, together, make up the final reconstruction.
