Reconstruction of theSouth Field 22-07-2008 formation 1. Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines. 2. Copy circle 1 to its righthand intersection with the horizontal centerline. Move this circle (copy and delete original) to its own corresponding intersection. 3. Copy circle 1 to its lefthand intersection with the horizontal centerline. Move this circle to its own corresponding intersection. 4. Create the inscribed hexagram of circle 1, by constructing two inscribed equilateral triangles, one pointing to the left, one to the right. 5. Construct a circle, passing through the upper and lower mutual intersections of triangles 4, and tangent to circle 1 at the righthand side. 6. Construct a circle, passing through the upper and lower mutual intersections of triangles 4, and tangent to circle 1 at the lefthand side. 7. Construct a "two-points" circle, defined by the end-points of a centerline (diameter), between the lefthand intersection of circle 5 and the righthand intersection of circle 6, both with the horizontal centerline. 8. Construct a "two-points" circle between the righthand intersections of circles 1 and 7, both with the horizontal centerline. 9. Construct a "two-points" circle between the lefthand intersections of circles 1 and 7, both with the horizontal centerline. 10. Taking the center of circle 1 as the reference point, copy circles 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 to the center of circle 2. 11. Repeat step 10 for circle 3, as shown. 12. Construct a circle centered at the lower intersection of circle 7 and the vertical centerline, passing through both intersections of circle 7 with the horizontal centerline. 13. Repeat step 12 for the upper intersection of circle 7. 14. Copy circles 12 and 13 as a whole from the center of circle 7 to the center of circle 8. 15. Copy circles 12 and 13 as a whole from the center of circle 7 to the center of circle 9. 16. Copy circles 12, 13, 14 and 15 as a whole from the center of circle 7 to the center of circle 2. 17. Copy circles 12, 13, 14 and 15 as a whole from the center of circle 7 to the center of circle 3. 18. Construct a line through the righthand intersection of circle 1 and the horizontal centerline, perpendicular to it, as shown. 19. Copy circle 7 to the intersection of the horizontal centerline and line 18, and move it twice to its upper intersection with line 18, as shown. 20. Copy circles 1, 5 and 6 as a whole from the center of circle 1 to the center of circle 19. 21. Construct a line through the lefthand intersection of circle 1 and the horizontal centerline, perpendicular to it. 22. Copy circle 7 to the intersection of the horizontal centerline and line 21, and move it twice to its upper intersection with line 21, as shown. 23. Copy circles 1, 5 and 6 as a whole from the center of circle 1 to the center of circle 22. 24. Copy circle 7 to the upper intersection of circle 1 and the vertical centerline, and move it to its own corresponding intersection. 25. Copy circles 1, 5 and 6 as a whole from the center of circle 1 to the center of circle 24. 26. Construct two circles concentric to circles 8 and 9, passing through each others centers. 27. Draw two lines, from the centers of circles 26 to their upper mutual intersection. 28. Taking the center of circle 1 as the reference, copy lines 27 five times, to the centers of circles 2, 3, 19, 22 and 24. 29. (For clarity, some of the results of previous steps are removed temporarily).Construct the inscribed regular 16-sided polygon of circle 7, pointing to the right. 30. Draw the sixteen rays of polygon 29, from the center of circle 7 to the angular points. 31. Construct a circle, tangent to the rightmost ray 30, tangent to the adjacent one just above it, and tangent to circle 7 (at the inner side). 32. Repeat step 31 fifteen times, with respect to all other corresponding pairs of rays 30, as shown. 33. Copy rays 30, and circles 31 and 32 as a whole from the center of circle 1 to the center of circle 2. 34. Copy rays 30, and circles 31 and 32 as a whole from the center of circle 1 to the center of circle 3. 35. Copy the eight circles 31 and 32 above the horizontal centerline as a whole from the center of circle 1 to the center of circle 24. 36. Repeat step 35 for circle 19, as shown. 37. Repeat step 35 for circle 22, as shown. 38. Draw seven lines, all from the lower intersection of circle 24 and the vertical centerline to the mutual intersections (tangent points) of circles 35. 39. Draw seven lines, all from the intersection (tangent point) of circles 1 and 2 to the mutual intersections (tangent points) of circles 36. 40. Draw seven lines, all from the intersection (tangent point) of circles 1 and 3 to the mutual intersections (tangent points) of circles 37. 41. Copy circles 19, 20, 22, 23, 24, 25, 35, 36 and 37, and lines 27, 28, 38, 39 and 40, while mirroring with respect to the horizontal centerline, as shown. 42. Circles 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20, 22, 23, 24, 25, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37 and 41, and lines 27, 28, 30, 33, 34, 38, 39, 40 and 41, are used for the final reconstruction. 43.
