Reconstruction of the
Blowingstone Hill 6-08-2006 formation

1. Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2. Copy circle 1 to its righthand intersection with the horizontal centerline.

3. Copy circle 1 nine times, to the righthand intersections of circle 2 and subsequently copied circles with the horizontal centerline, as shown.

4. Construct nine circles, all concentric to circle 1, passing through the centers of successive circles 3.

5. Draw the connecting line between the intersections of circles 1 and 2.

6. Construct a circle centered on the horizontal centerline, tangent to circle 2 at the lefthand side, and tangent to line 5.

7. Copy circle 6 to the righthand intersection of the rightmost circle 3 and the horizontal centerline.

8. Construct two circles concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 7 on both sides.

9. Construct the inscribed hexagon (regular 6-sided polygon) of the largest circle 4, pointing to the right.

10. Draw one ray of hexagon 9, from the center of circle 1 to the rightmost angular point, as shown.

11. Draw another ray of hexagon 9, from the center of circle 1 to the upper right angular point.

12. Draw ten connecting lines, from the intersection of circle 1 and ray 11 to the intersection of the largest circle 4 and ray 10, from the intersection of the smallest circle 4 and ray 11 to the intersection of the second largest circle 4 and ray 10, from the intersection of the second circle 4 and ray 11 to the intersection of the third largest circle 4 and ray 10, and so on, as shown.

13. Draw four more rays of hexagon 9, to the other angular points.

14. Repeat step 12 five times, for the other five "sextants" of hexagon 9, as shown.

15. Circles 8, and lines 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 make up all that is necessary for the final reconstruction.

16. Remove all parts not visible in the formation itself.
