Reconstruction of the
Barbury Castle 14-07-2006 formation

1. Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2. Construct the inscribed regular 13-sided polygon of circle 1, pointing up.

3. Draw the connecting line between the upper left and upper right angular points of polygon 2, as shown.

4. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to line 3.

5. Construct a circle centered at the upper intersection of circle 1 and the vertical centerline, tangent to circle 1 at the lower side.

6. Construct a circle concentric to circle 5, tangent to circle 4 at the lower side.

7. Construct a circle centered at the lower intersection of circle 1 and the vertical centerline, tangent to circle 5 at the upper side.

8. Construct a circle concentric to circle 7, tangent to circle 6 at the upper side.

9. Construct a circle centered at the upper intersection of circle 1 and the vertical centerline, tangent to circle 7 at the lower side.

10. Construct a circle concentric to circle 9, tangent to circle 8 at the lower side.

11. Draw two lines parallel to the horizontal centerline, tangent to circles 1 and 4 at the upper sides, extended to the right up to circle 9, as shown.

12. Construct the inscribed regular 13-sided polygon of circle 6, pointing up.

13. Draw the thirteen rays from the center of circle 6 to the angular points of polygon 12.

14. Draw six rays, from the center of circle 1 to the intersections of circle 6 and six consecutive rays 13, starting with the upper one, counting clockwise, as shown.

15. Draw six lines, from the intersections of circle 6 and rays 14, tangent to circle 4 at the righthand side.

16. Construct the inscribed regular 26-sided polygon of circle 8, pointing up.

17. Draw the twenty-six rays from the center of circle 8 to the angular points of polygon 16.

18. Draw thriteen rays, from the center of circle 1 to the intersections of circle 8 and thirteen consecutive rays 17, starting with the lower one, counting clockwise, as shown.

19. Draw thirteen lines, from the intersections of circle 8 and rays 18, tangent to circle 4 at the lefthand and upper side.

20. Construct the inscribed regular 38-sided polygon of circle 10, pointing down.

21. Draw the thirty-eight rays from the center of circle 10 to the angular points of polygon 20.

22. Draw nine rays, from the center of circle 1 to the intersections of circle 10 and nine consecutive rays 21, starting with the righthand one just above the horizontal centerline, counting clockwise, as shown.

23. Draw nine lines, from the intersections of circle 10 and rays 22, tangent to circle 4 at the lower side.

24. Circles 1, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10, and lines 11, 14, 15, 18, 19, 22 and 23 make up all necessary elements for the final reconstruction.

25. Remove all parts not visible in the formation itself.
