Reconstruction of the
Avebury Trusloe 23-06-2005 formation

1. Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2. Construct the inscribed equilateral triangle of circle 1, pointing to the right.

3. Construct the inscribed circle of triangle 2.

4. Construct three circles, each centered at a different angular point of triangle 2, each passing through the intersections (tangent points) of circle 3 and adjacent sides of triangle 2.

5. Copy and mirror each circle 4, relative to the side of triangle 2 opposite to it.

6. Copy and mirror the two righthand circles 5, relative to the lefthand side of triangle 2.

7. Draw the connecting line between the centers of the two righthand circles 5.

8. Copy and mirror the two lefthand circles 4, relative to line 7.

9. Draw the connecting line between the centers of upper circles 4 and 5.

10. Copy and mirror righthand circle 4, relative to line 9.

11. Draw the connecting line between the centers of lower circles 4 and 5.

12. Copy and mirror righthand circle 4, relative to line 11.

13. Copy and mirror circles 4, 5, 6, 8, 10 and 12, relative to the vertical centerline.

14. Construct the inscribed equilateral triangle of circle 12, pointing to the left.

15. Copy triangle 14 eleven times, to the centers of circles 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10 (that means, constructing the left-pointing inscribed equilateral triangle of each of these circles).

16. Construct the inscribed equilateral triangle of lowest circle 13, pointing to the right.

17. Copy triangle 16 eleven times, to the centers of all other circles 13.

18. Draw the connecting line between the lefthand angular point of triangle 14 and the righthand angular point of triangle 16.

19. Construct a circle, centered at the intersection of the righthand side of triangle 14 and line 18, tangent to lowest circle 13 at the lefthand side.

20. Copy circle 19 to the center of circle 12.

21. Copy circle 20 eleven times, to the centers of circles 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10.

22. Construct the circumscribed equilateral triangle of circle 20, pointing to the left.

23. Copy triangle 22 eleven times, to the centers of circles 21 (that means, constructing the left-pointing circumscribed equilateral triangle of all circles 21).

24. Copy circle 20 to the center of lowest circle 13.

25. Copy circle 24 eleven times, to the centers of all other circles 13.

26. Construct the circumscribed equilateral triangle of circle 24, pointing to the right.

27. Copy triangle 26 eleven times, to the centers of circles 25.

28. Construct the inscribed equilateral triangle of circle 20, pointing to the left.

29. Copy triangle 28 eleven times, to the centers of circles 21.

30. Extend the upper lefthand and righthand sides of upper triangles 15 and 17, respectively, until intersection.

31. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, passing through the intersection of lines 30.

32. Construct the circumscribed hexagon (regular 6-sided polygon) of circle 31, pointing to the right.

33. Triangles 14, 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, 26, 27, 28 and 29, and hexagon 32, together, make up the constituent parts of the reconstruction.
