Reconstruction of the
Milk Hill 26-06-2004 formation
(92 steps!)

1. Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2. Create a "Vesica Pisces"-pattern by constructing two circles centered at both intersections of circle 1 and the horizontal centerline, passing through the opposite intersections, as shown.

3. Copy one of circles 2 to the lower intersection of circle 1 and the vertical centerline.

4. Copy one of circles 2 to the lower intersection of circle 3 and the vertical centerline.

5. Construct the inscribed octagon (regular 8-sided polygon) of circle 4, pointing to the right.

6. Construct the inscribed circle of octagon 5.

7. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 6 at the upper side.

8. Construct two circles concentric to circles 2, tangent to circle 7 at the opposite sides.

9. Construct the inscribed square of circle 7, pointing to the right.

10. Construct the inscribed circle of square 9.

11. Copy circle 10 to the upper intersection of both circles 2.

12. Draw and extend the horizontal centerline of circle 11.

13. Create a "Vesica Pisces"-pattern like circles 2, by constructing two circles centered at both intersections of circle 11 and its own horizontal centerline, passing through the opposite intersections, as shown.

14. Construct a circle centered at the lowest angular point of octagon 5, tangent to circle 6 at the lower side.

15. Copy circle 14 to the upper intersection of circle 11 and the vertical centerline.

16. Construct a circle concentric to circle 11, tangent to circle 15 at the upper side.

17. Construct two circles concentric to circles 13, tangent to circle 16 at the opposite sides.

18. Construct a circle concentric to circle 11, tangent to circle 7 at the lower side.

19. Construct a circle concentric to circle 18, tangent to circle 10 at the lower side.

20. Construct a circle centered at the upper intersection of both circles 13, tangent to circle 11 at the upper side.

21. Draw and extend the horizontal centerline of circle 20.

22. Create a "Vesica Pisces"-pattern, by constructing two circles centered at both intersections of circle 20 and its own horizontal centerline, passing through the opposite intersections.

23. Construct a circle concentric to circle 20, tangent to circle 15 at the lower side.

24. Construct two circles concentric to circles 22, tangent to circle 23 at the opposite sides.

25. Construct a circle concentric to circle 20, tangent to circle 16 at the lower side.

26. Construct a circle concentric to circle 25, passing through the lower intersection of circle 11 and lefthand circle 2.

27. Construct the inscribed equilateral triangle of circle 23, pointing up.

28. Construct the inscribed circle of triangle 27.

29. Copy circle 28 to the upper intersection of both circles 22.

30. Draw and extend the horizontal centerline of circle 29.

31. Create a "Vesica Pisces"-pattern, by constructing two circles centered at both intersections of circle 29 and its own horizontal centerline, passing through the opposite intersections.

32. Copy circle 15 to the lower intersection of circle 29 and the vertical centerline.

33. Construct a circle concentric to circle 29, tangent to circle 32 at the lower side.

34. Construct two circles concentric to circles 31, tangent to circle 33 at the opposite sides.

35. Construct a circle concentric to circle 29, tangent to circle 21 at the lower side.

36. Construct a circle concentric to circle 35, passing through the lower intersection of circle 20 and lefthand circle 13.

37. Construct two circles centered at the upper intersection of both circles 31, tangent to circles 35 and 36 respectively, both at the upper sides.

38. Copy circle 23 to the upper intersection of circle 35 and the vertical centerline.

39. Copy circle 20 to the upper intersection of circle 38 and the vertical centerline.

40. Copy circle 38 to the center of circle 39, and copy circle 28 to its upper intersection with the vertical centerline.

41. Copy circle 28 to the upper intersection of upper circle 40 and the vertical centerline.

42. Construct a circle centered at the upper intersection of circle 39 and the vertical centerline, tangent to circle 40 at the lower side.

43. Construct a circle concentric to circle 41, tangent to circle 39 at the upper side.

44. Copy circle 42 to the upper intersection of circle 43 and the vertical centerline.

45. Copy circle 42 to the upper intersection of circle 44 and the vertical centerline.

46. Construct the circumscribed square of circle 4, its sides horizontally and vertically oriented.

47. Construct a circle concentric to circle 4, passing through the intersection of righthand circle 8 and the righthand side of square 46. Copy this circle to the lower intersection of circle 4 and the vertical centerline.

48. Copy lower circle 47 to its upper intersection with the vertical centerline. Call the upper intersection of this circle and the vertical centerline: point A.

49. Construct a circle concentric to circle 48, tangent to circle 6 at the lower side. Call the upper intersection of this circle and the vertical centerline: point B.

Point A and point B will be used in several construction steps below.

50. Copy circle 6 to the lower intersection of circle 4 and the vertical centerline.

51. Construct a circle centered at the upper intersection of circle 50 and the vertical centerline, passing through point A.

52. Construct a circle concentric to circle 51, passing through point B.

53. Draw the horizontal centerline of circle 6 and extend it up to circle 51 in both directions.

54. Construct a circle centered at the lower intersection of circle 4 and the vertical centerline, passing through the righthand (and lefthand) intersection of centerline 53 and circle 51. Copy this circle to point B.

55. Copy lower circle 54 to the lower intersection of the upper circle 54 and the vertical centerline.

56. Construct a circle concentric to circle 55, passing through point A.

57. Construct the circumscribed square of circle 55, its sides horizontally and vertically oriented.

58. Construct the circumscribed circle of square 57. Copy this circle to point A.

59. Copy lower circle 58 to the lower intersection of the upper circle 58 and the vertical centerline.

60. Construct a circle concentric to circle 59, passing through point B.

61. Copy circle 14 to the lower intersection of the upper circle 58 and the vertical centerline.

62. Copy circle 61 to its lower intersection with the vertical centerline.

63. Construct a circle centered at the lower intersection of circle 52 and the vertical centerline, passing through the center of circle 62. Copy this circle two times, to the lower intersections of circles 55 and 60, respectively, both with the vertical centerline.

64. Copy circle 14 two times, to the upper intersections of the lower two circles 63 and the vertical centerlines.

65. Construct a circle concentric to upper circle 64, passing through point A.

66. Copy circle 65 to the upper intersection of circle 62 and the vertical centerline.

67. Draw the horizontal centerline of circle 65.

68. Construct a circle concentric to circle 65, passing through the righthand (and lefthand) intersection of circle 66 and centerline 67.

69. Draw the horizontal centerline of circle 59, and extend it up to circle 65 in both directions.

70. Construct a circle centered at the righthand intersection of circle 68 and centerline 69, tangent to circle 59 at the near side.

71. Construct a circle centered at the lower intersection of circles 68 and 70, tangent to circle 65 at the near side.

72. Construct a circle concentric to circle 70, tangent to circle 71 at the lower side.

73. Construct a circle centered at the (lefthand) intersection of circle 72 and centerline 69, tangent to circle 56 at the near side.

74. Construct a circle centered at the upper intersection of circles 60 and 73, tangent to circle 56 at the near side.

75. Copy circle 71 to the lower intersection of circles 60 and 74.

76. Construct a circle concentric to circle 74, tangent to circle 75 at the lower side.

77. Draw the horizontal centerline of circle 56.

78. Construct a circle centered at the (lefthand) intersection of circle 76 and centerline 77, tangent to circle 51 at the near side.

79. Construct a circle centered at the upper intersection of circles 55 and 78, tangent to circle 51 at the near side.

80. Copy circle 75 to the lower intersection of circles 55 and 79.

81. Construct a circle concentric to circle 79, tangent to circle 80 at the lower side.

82. Draw the horizontal centerline of circle 51.

83. Construct a circle centered at the (lefthand) intersection of circle 81 and centerline 82, tangent to circle 48 at the near side.

84. Construct a circle centered at the upper intersection of circles 52 and 83, tangent to circle 48 at the near side.

85. Copy circle 80 to the lower intersection of circles 52 and 84.

86. Construct a circle concentric to circle 84, tangent to circle 85 at the lower side.

87. Copy circles 70, 72, 74, 76, 79, 81, 84 and 86, while mirroring the complete set with respect to the vertical centerline.

88. For the final reconstruction, the following set of circles is needed: 1, 2, 4, 7, 8, 11, 13, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 29, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 39, 41, 45, 48, 49, 51, 52, 55, 56, 59, 60, 62, 64, 65, 68, 70, 72, 74, 76, 79, 81, 84, 86 and 87.

89. Leave out all parts not visible in the formation itself.
