Reconstruction of the
Thornborough Henge 21-06-2003 formation

1. Draw a circle. Draw the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2. Construct the inscribed hexagon (6-sided regular polygon) of circle 1, pointing up.

3. Draw the three diagonals of hexagon 2, passing through the center of circle 1.

4. Construct the inscribed hexagon of circle 1, pointing to the right.

5. Draw the three diagonals of hexagon 4, passing through the center of circle 1.

6. Construct a circle, with the rightmost side of hexagon 2 as its centerline (centered at the intersection of that side and the horizontal centerline, and passing through the two rightmost angular points of hexagon 2).

7. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 6 at the near side.

8. Copy circle 6 six times, to the angular points of hexagon 2.

9. Construct a circle, centered at the intersection of upper circle 8 and vertical diagonal 3, tangent to both upper sides of hexagon 2.

10. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circle 9 at the upper side.

11. Copy circle 9 six times, to the centers of circles 8.

12. Construct the inscribed equilateral triangle of circle 7, pointing up.

13. Construct the inscribed circle of triangle 12.

14. Copy circle 13 six times, to the centers of circles 8.

15. Copy the set of three circles 8, 11 and 14, centered at the lower angular point of hexagon 2, to the center of circle 1.

16. Copy circles 15 six times, to the intersections of circle 10 and diagonals 5.

17. Copy circles 15 twelve times, to the outer intersections of circles 8 and outer circles 16.

18. Copy circles 15 twelve times, to the mutual outer intersections of outer circles 17.

19. Copy outer circle 15 (circle 6) twelve times, to the mutual outer intersections of outer circles 18.

20. Construct two circles concentric to circle 1, passing through the lower intersections of upper right circle 11 and the outer two circles 17 from the set of three at the right, just above the horizontal centerline, see detail.

21. Circles 7, 8, 11, 14, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20 make up the constituents for the reconstruction.
