Reconstruction of the
Serpent Mound, Ohio, USA, 24-08-2003 formation

1. Draw a circle. Draw and extend the horizontal and vertical centerlines.

2. Construct a circle centered at the upper intersection of circle 1 and the vertical centerline, tangent to circle 1 at the lower side.

3. Construct a circle centered at the lower intersection of circle 1 and the vertical centerline, tangent to circle 1 at the upper side.

4. Construct a circle centered at the right intersection of circles 2 and 3, passing through the centers of circles 2 and 3.

5. Construct a circle centered at the left intersection of circles 2 and 3, passing through the centers of circles 2 and 3.

6. Copy circle 2 to the center of circle 1.

7. Construct a circle centered at the upper intersection of circle 6 and the vertical centerline, passing through the intersections of circles 2 and 3.

8. Draw two lines, connecting the centers of circles 2 and 3 with their right intersection.

9. Construct a circle, tangent to lines 8 and to the vertical centerline. (It is the inscribed circle of the equilateral triangle formed by lines 8 and the vertical centerline).

10. Construct a circle centered at the right intersection of circle 9 and the horizontal centerline, tangent to circle 1 at the near side.

11. Copy circle 10 to the upper intersection of circle 6 and the vertical centerline.

12. Copy circle 10 to the upper intersection of circle 11 and the vertical centerline.

13. Construct two circles centered at both intersections of circle 6 and the horizontal centerline, each tangent to circles 2 and 3 at the nearest sides.

14. Copy the left circle 13 to its left intersection, the right circle 13 to its right intersection with the horizontal centerline.

15. Construct a circle concentric to circle 1, tangent to circles 4 and 5 at the near sides.

16. Copy circle 15 to the lower intersection of circle 6 and the vertical centerline.

17. Copy circle 15 to the lower intersection of circle 16 and the vertical centerline.

18. Copy circle 9 to the center of circle 17.

19. Construct a circle concentric to circle 17, tangent to circle 16 at the upper side.

20. Copy circle 15 to the center of circle 11.

21. Copy circle 7 to the lower intersection of circle 20 and the vertical centerline.

22. Construct a circle concentric to circle 2, tangent to circle 21 at the lower side.

23. Construct a circle centered at the lower intersection of circle 20 and the vertical centerline, passing through the intersections of circles 2 and 3.

24. Construct a circle concentric to circle 7, tangent to circle 23 at the lower side.

25. Circles 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 12, 14, 17, 18, 19, 22 and 24 form the constituents of the final reconstruction.

26. Remove all parts not visible in the formation itself.
